Question Windows 10 shuts down without warning - Event log gives Event ID of 6008

Hi guys

I always leave my PC on. This morning it was off when I went to use it. I turned it on and half an hour later it turned off all of a sudden. I was just browsing on the web.

The event log is showing 6008 which states the previous shutdown was unexpected.

So far I checked that the power cable and plug are seated well, did a system virus check with Bitdefender and checked the CPU temps which are fine.

What else should I be looking into? Had a look on Google and can't find a great deal.

I'm on Ryzen 5950x, 128GB RAM, and several Sabrent nvmes.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Could you list the exact brand and model of each component. GPU ?
And for the crucial part : the PSU., Power, age ,exact reference.

Is the power cable ( the one from the PSU to the wall outlet ) new or an old one recycled ?
Do you have access to a spare PSU to test ?

Thanks egda, PSU cable is an oldie. Yes I do have an old 650w PSU spare.

Is this type of error normally caused by power failure?

Seems to be the obvious starting point.
I would test with your spare PSU.
Don't forget to use only your old cables to the motherboard, cpu and GPU. Not the new Corsair one. That would likely fry components

Okay will do that. Since this morning (6 hours ago) PC is still running. Might just be luck so far today. All I did this morning was to make sure the kettle lead was seated well in the PC.

Hopefully you wont hear from me for a while, but will post if I have further problems.
