Hello All,

I have a customer's laptop, ASUS X515JA, has Windows 10 installed, when the PC is powered on, it hangs on the booting screen with the dots circling around for more than 2 mins, once gets into windows, it's fast. I followed the instructions of taking a boot trace with Windows Performance Recorder, and the ETL file is uploaded to https://we.tl/t-YkJ2KrbthP
Any ideas what's causing the delay?

Specs of the laptop:
  • Processor: Intel® Core™ i5-1035G1 Processor 1.0 GHz (6M Cache, up to 3.6 GHz, 4 cores
  • Graphics Card: Intel® UHD Graphics
  • Memory: DDR4 8GB
  • Storage: 512GB M.2 NVMe™ PCIe® 3.0 SSD

It seems like services.exe is where the problem lies but I can't seem to find details as to which service is the problem. If you haven't already, can you try following the instructions in this video to use the Windows Assessment Console boot performance assessments? It should produce an etl and an xml file that might give more useful graphs/charts.

I ran a boot assessment on my system configured for 1 pass and this is the resulting dialog shown in the Windows Assessment Console at the end of the run. In the right panel under:

ETL traces
Boot Performance (Full Boot)

there are four links to XML files. Clicking on the "Timing trace: FullBoot_Timing_1.Boot.xml" opened WPA with a number of tabs generated which are supposed to help with analysis.

Do you not have the same?
