For some reason W10 Pro starts to lag after about 8 hours of usage. i usually keep my pc on 24/7 only restarting it
occasionally. So far, I've tried reducing the number of active services to the essentials, also my energy
options are set for performance and I've gotten rid of most of the bloatware. I'm only initializing a sound driver and that's it.

The only solution I've found so far is to log off then on again and then W10 gets fast gain for some reaosn.

W10 is on an ssd.

What could be causing this?

My specs:

CPU:FX6300
MB: Asus M5A78L-M LX V2
RAM: 16GB DDR3
GPU: R7 240 2GB
3 HD + 1 SSD
PSU: Gamemax GP 650

Your system is rather old. Check cpu and system temperatures.

Your board doesn't have any vrm heatsinks.
With FX cpus it's quite common to get vrm overheating. This tanks performance significantly.
You may want to reduce cpu frequency.

Also set energy options to balanced.
My cpu temps are normal, they rarely exceed 60ºC under load. I haven't checked my system temps in a while but I don't think they overheat either.

My clock is currently 4.0GHz, I'll try reducing it a little. As for energy options I think setting them to balanced
will make Windows even slower.

It will be slightly less performance than on full.
But it will reduce vrm overheating.

You may want to set additional cooling for vrm area.

Windows 10 is bloatware (Windows 11 has even more spyware than Win10...). Over time Win10 gets bogged down because accumulates a vast amount of software and the OS throws data all over the place. If you are using a hard drive the seek head has to travel all over the drive to find data. If your HHD or SSD is too full the drive will also slow down. You should try to have at least 10% of a drive free (I suggest more though). There was a business I went to years ago and the computers there had the drives FULL, not even a game would function on them.

Suggest you download and use the free version of CCleaner by Piriform. CCleaner gets rid of a lot of accumulated worthless junk. I use CCleaner Pro, if you use that I suggest you end the subscription every year otherwise you will be auto-billed with a high renewal price. After canceling the subscription you can buy a new copy at a much lower price. However, sometimes you will be sent messages prior to the subscription date with 30 to over 50% off of the price for the coming year. I know, odd, however you will save money.

Yes, I also thought about the bloatware that's all over Windows 10 and 11 as a cause for the lagging.
I also boot WIndows 7 Ultimate on my ssd and it never seems to lose performance even after a couple of
days usage.

I do not have your computers in my hands and therefore cannot address your observations. Windows 7 had less bloatware than Win10. Still, the more you use your PC the more bloatware there will be. Again, too much data on a drive will cause problems, including slow performance, drives should not be too full. And, hard drives can be defragged, however SSDs should not be as they will lose longevity if defrag is used.

Don't rule out a possible virus if there is no other reason for a slow down of the PC.

Actually I boot both Win7 and 10 on the same machine and only 10 is giving me this issue.

If only Win10 is the issue and you have plenty of free drive space you might check for a virus.
I have actually done that with Malwarebytes a couple of times in the last week. It has found about 15 viruses/malware on my Win10 partition and that's it. Even after excluding those viruses the performance is
still a problem on W10.
