Ttile says it all, im stuck on a booting up screen from windows 10 and after waiting hours nothing works. I don't want to send it in and get charged a fortune and i want to know if there are any solutions. ty
I've been having this problem too, really sucks :/ I have a lenovo and when it updated last sunday, took like 3 hours to update and then wouldn't boot; just had the spinning dots forever. I was able to get to safe mode through windows recovery (by furiously smashing F8 as soon as I restarted the computer), so I got all my files off, but wasnt really able to use the computer still. Ultimately had to do the windows reinstall thing. At first I kept all my files, but the issue didnt fix. Figured I needed a fresh installation of windows, so I did the other one which deleted all my files, and it worked - kinda. Now, on startup I can get to the login screen and use the computer, but whenever the computer locks/ goes to sleep naturally, I press to wake it up and I get a red background where the pretty startup picture would usually be, with the spinning dots of death back. Clicking again removes the picture overlay and just has the red background with the lights. Also, restarting from here will still often bring me back to the lenovo startup image and leave me hanging at the spinning dots. restarting again often fixes the problem though.
Anyways, I would suggest if you can, boot to windows recovery by pressing F8, Shift + F8, or potentially Fn F8, then run a logged boot (dont remember the exact name for it), it essentially just restarts the computer and records a log of the startup procedure. Get to recovery mode again, go to safe mode and find where the log was saved, and post it here. That should help get you an answer, I would think.
