Hello, Currently I'm getting all the components ready for the new build and I really want to use my old drives and Windows 10 Pro that's on them. Bought the BB920 Ibuypower from best buy awhile ago. Windows 10 Pro was pre installed and I have the disk. I was wondering will I need a retail version for the new build to work on the ssd boot drive? And if so if I got a new nvme m.2 boot drive what will I have to do to the old ssd and hdd to get it them to work on the new system? Really hoping I don't have to buy Windows 10 Pro when its still on there but I understand it may be tied to the mobo. I still have all the product keys also.
Thank you in advance for the help.

Can you go to settings/update & security/activation on current PC

if it says in the activated field: Windows is activated with a digital license then the licence is currently attached to your motherboard. You should be able to create a Microsoft account using a email address or phone number at this link and link your licence on the same activation page by clicking "add an account"

If it says Windows is activated with a digital license linked to your Microsoft account then it is already linked to your Microsoft account (the email address used to register windows 10)

Then all you should need to do once win 10 installed on new PC is follow this - https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/20530/windows-10-reactivating-after-hardware-change

when you install on new PC, and get to licence screen, click a link that says "I don't have a key" and win 10 will continue to install. Follow link in previous paragraph to activate it once installed.

Now there is a chance that since it was pre installed on PC by an OEM, that win 10 is actually tied to PC and cannot be moved. I am not sure if Ibuypower are a big enough OEM to get that type of license. It may only apply to big OEM like Dell and Lenova
