Windows 10 update downgrades windows edition and deactivates windows!!

I have a yoga 710 which came with windows 10 home installed. I did a clean install on it to get rid of junk software. (clean installed windows 10 pro).

Recently my windows upgraded to newest version, the creators update. When windows updated,it changed the windows edition from pro to home. and then windows got deactivated and i cant activate it.

Do you have a license for windows 10 pro? If no, then windows 10 pro on your pc was never activated.
You have to reinstall windows 10 home.

could it possible, when updating to creators version, windows thought wait this Pc is supposed to have windows home in it. and when getting the key from bios it was given windows 10 pro key.so windows could not be activated.

You didn't answer the question. WHERE did you get Windows 10 Professional from? Yes. It does matter.

No. If you installed and activated Windows 10 Professional, the device is registered in the MS databases as a Windows 10 Pro system.

windows 10 download tool. i had windows 10 pro key with my MS account so when i connected my account, it activated.

whats weird is that i have windows 10 home installed right now. Why is my windows 10 home which came with the PC not activated ?

Ok now this is getting interesting. I disconnected the MS account which has windows 10 pro key. Restarted the computer. And activation message from bottom right is gone. however, widows home is still not activated. look at this picture https://i.snag.gy/zkCO60.jpg, you will be confused AF.

so what might be happening was, the MS account was over writing the key stored in bios. and now windows is confused

problem solved, I went on windows 10 page on MS store. It gave me option to authenticate my home key or upgrade to pro. i clicked on authenticate and windows activated with a digital licence linked to MS account. https://i.snag.gy/7X1bsZ.jpg
