I recently downloaded a large Windows 10 update, and afterwards my audio quality has been very poor. It sounds slightly distorted and tinny. I'm not quite sure how else to describe it.

I have Realtek High Definition Audio that came with my Asus laptop. When I go to sound properties, it says I am running driver version 6.0.1.7535 from 6/16/2015.
But under the events tab, there is record of a driver service being added, and a device was installed from the Windows update.

I have copied what the information says for each item:

Drive service added "Driver Management has concluded the process to add Service IntcAzAudAddService for Device Instance ID HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0668&SUBSYS_1043185D&REV_1000\4&17865593&0&0001 with the following status: 0."

Device installed (hdxama3.inf) "Driver Management concluded the process to install driver hdxama3.inf_amd64_cd9e1b08f720ed99\hdxama3.inf for Device Instance ID HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0668&SUBSYS_1043185D&REV_1000\4&17865593&0&0001 with the following status: 0x0."

Everything was running perfectly fine the night before the install, so I am quite certain it was the large update. Any help would be much appreciated.

I uninstalled and reinstalled the Realtek drivers from their website. I thought it was fixed at first, but i realized the quality was not back to normal shortly. So I believe it improved, but the quality is not fully restored. It just sounds like there is no bass essentially.

Maybe it is me, but I strongly feel like the quality is not the same as it was prior.

Edit: I accidentally selected your response as a best solution from the email alert, is there any undo?
