Windows 10 update tool not allowing me to update

Whenever i try to update to windows 10 this update message occurs and i have windows 8.1 (not pirated) installed

hi um, it says that when i want to install from a dvd or flash drive it says i need a windows 10 product key, where do i get that?

If youre upgrading from a previous version you dont need a key.

But you may or will need one, if you dont upgrade from within windows / if you do a clean install

Tell the tool to Create Install media for another PC. Once the ISO file downloads, mount it (if you're on Windows 8.1) by double clicking it, or write it to a flash drive using the Rufus tool (if you're on Windows 7) and run Setup. You can do the upgrade from there, no key required. You only need to buy a Windows 10 key if you're wiping the system and doing a clean install.

Install it from within Windows. Select upgrade. See if you get the same thing

No... you don't boot off the dvd. Run the setup from within Windows and it will let you upgrade. It won't ask for a key there.

i got the same exact error code as in the beginning when i try to create media for another pc (from my pc)
the error code is 0x80080005 - 0x90016 by the way

Looks like 0x80080005 - 0x90016 means the BITS service is corrupt / it may have stopped. if youre using windowsupdate

So if youre using windowsupdate , get the ISO / mount it / then run setup if youre using Win8

i dont understand what you mean by "get the iso" do you mean like get the iso from another computer bc i did that and it said i needed a windows key
