I tried installing the update, but after reaching 100% the screen goes black and on the bottom of the screen stated, "Restoring previous version of Windows...". After logging into my account, I see the update in Settings > Update & Security > WIndows Update.

No other errors except the phrase mentions above.

Win 10 came pre-installed on my laptop.

Edit: Version 1511 update needs to be downloaded first on the Windows Update page(Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update). After the loading bar for the update is finished, I can then proceed to "Restart and Update" my laptop. I cannot simply click "Restart and Update" my laptop.

Picture below is an update for something else, but see what I mean by a loading bar.

what version of windows 10 are you on now?

right click start menu
select run
type Winver

If you on an old version, try this, download this: Windows 10 media creation tool

You can choose to upgrade current PC or you can make a Win 10 Installer on USB or DVD.
I would do second as if the same error occurs choosing first option, you would have to dl everything again. This way you don't. If you make a USB or DVD, just open file explorer, choose the drive and run set up.

you were too fast 😛
