So I just recently did a new build for my pc and a fresh install of windows 10. I am doing the update to version 1607 and I have been waiting for about an hour and all I have so far is the spinning dots right next to install now. Does this normally take this long when updating from a fresh install?

Solution
If you go to the Microsoft site you can just download the newest version of Windows 10, which is 1607, the way you did it just puts a lot of wear and tear on your SSD, extra reads and writes;

It shouldn't take that long, but why did you use the base version to do the install? You can download the latest 1607 ISO from M$ and install the OS using that method, much easier, and less of a headache.

I didn't think of ISO from had all the updates it's trying to do.

-Feature update to Windows 10, version 1607.

all the nvidia graphics adapters

security update

and intel updates

Of course it wont have all the updates for everything, but, it's a lot easier on the system to start with the latest version being 1607 and install a few patches instead of starting with 1511 or 1507 then patching up, as there have been many updates released since 1507/1511. Plus, to do a major update like 1511 to 1607 is a royal time killer as opposed to starting with 1607.

As for drivers, download them from nvidia, same with the Intel drivers.
