Question Windows 10. USB External SSD drive randomly disconnecting while playing games or copying big files

Hello! I have the laptop Legion 5-17ACH6H Laptop (Lenovo) and External NVMe SSD Drive 2TB inside the Case ASUS STRIX ARION M.2 NVMe.
My games are installed on this external drive. When I'm playing games or copying huge files (>20GB) my external drive is disconnected for 1 second, so my game crashes.


What have I already tried?
1. I turned off USB selective suspend settings



2. I disabled "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" for every USB port in Device Manager



3. I tried other USB ports (USB, Type-C) and cables.

4. I tried other NVME case (AXAGON EEM2-SG2, M.2 NVMe & SATA Screwless RAW Box USB-C 10Gbps)

5. I updated all drivers, BIOS, and installed all windows updates.

My specs:
Windows 10 Pro X64
BitDefender Total Security 2022

Does the ext do the same thing if you use a different pc?

Unfortunately, I don't have possibility to check it with other PC

Perhaps take the ext to a service counter and have them test it.

Yes it will cost a few bucks but it might split the problem between the ext and your pc.

I fixed this problem:

1. I disabled all strange software (Task manager - Startup)
2. I connected my SSD to the back of the laptop USB port

The problem has gone.
