So I upgraded to Windows 10 yesterday and everything has been fine so far, except I am having several issues with my Razer Kraken 7.1 USB headset. I installed the latest version of Razer Synapse, but it has not helped. Basically the audio sounds flatter than it did before, it's hard to explain. Every so often the audio also goes really loud to the point it is almost deafening, and it becomes really distorted. Also, audio has started cutting out, more noticeable while playing Counter Strike Global Offensive, this has never been an issue before. Any ideas as to why this might be happening?

I have a corsair vengeance 1500v2 headset and even in windows 8.1 it would cut out every once in a while too.

Have you restarted your PC? That fixed a few problems for me.

If that doesn't work try plugging your headset into a different USB port (USB 2.0, 3.0, 3.1 doesn't matter).

Restarted with the headset plugged into a different port, but audio still sound flatter than it did on windows 7. Haven't experience the loud audio or any audio cutting out, but it happens randomly so it could still be an issue

After using my normal speakers all afternoon I can confirm there are no issues with audio using speakers, however the issues remain with my headset. Is there nothing I can do?

Hello, i had the same issue with my Kraken...it is a bit annoying. I know what you mean with CS GO 🙂, i noticed the issue also first time in CS GO.
What i did and worked for me, disconnect the headset and go to the device manager. At the View menu point, select the Show hidden devices option. Then search for the Kraken in the Sound, video and game controllers (and evtl. in the USB controllers), after you find something delete (uninstall) it completely.
If you plug in the Kraken the next time, you need to reconfigure it within the Razer synapse and it should work like the first time (of course set as default device in the ControlPanel->Sound section).
I hope it helps, if not, then you can try to use another usb slot. It seemed to work also, because then it recognize it as a new device. I think the problem is, that somehow the system doesn't recognize it as a default speaker device and you need to set it manually. And somehow after then something goes wrong, and doesn't work correctly anymore.
You can check if it is working if you try to change the EQ setting from the Razer Synapse and you are not hearing any changes...then something is wrong, now after i plug in the headphones i go first to the EQ and check if it is working correctly or not :)

PS: If you solved the issue already, can you please describe what did you did to solve it? Thanks!

Yeah I solved the issue. Basically what I did was I unplugged the headset and then closed the Razer Synapse software. I then plugged the headset back in and restarted Razer Synapse which seemed to fix the issue. Although this doesn't have any effect on me anymore due to the fact I got a new headset, it may be helpful for anyone else having issues.
