Windows 10 Wont Activate After mobo/cpu upgrade

I just upgraded my PC from a dell Inspiron to a Gigabyte Gaming 3 with a Ryzen 1600 and some new ram. Now windows 10 wont activate no matter what I do. I've tried using my linked Microsoft account, but when I click on "This is the device I'm using right now" and activate, it tells me unable to activate windows try again later. Btw I upgraded from 8.1 for free. I don't have a install disk, 8.1 came with the PC. Thanks for any help.

Then you need to "try again later".
I've had this happen. It may take a while, but it eventually goes through.

If you change motherboard or cpu, you will need a new key for Windows 10 in 99 % of the cases. You have two options here:

1) buy new key for 20-25 $ for Kinguin

2) or contact Microsoft support and ask them if they can help you ( explain your situation to them )

If you have to buy a key, get it from a genuine, trusted retailer, not a grey-market one.
