I am just trying to update windows 10 to the latest version and it keeps giving me this message with no error codes. I used the original CD that came from my windows 10 installation box.

"There were problems installing some updates, but we'll try again later. If you keep seeing this and want to search the web or contact support for information, this may help:"

I did a fresh windows 10 install, and am just trying to update windows since when I tried downloading my gpu drivers from Nvidia it said that my windows version was too old.

That installation media, is that basically the same thing as my installation disc except with up-to-date windows files? Does that mean I would need to save it on a disc/flash drive?

Okay thanks, I'll just save the files over to my flash drive and re-install one more time. Didn't realize if a windows 10 version is too old it wont update properly to the newest version lol.

Ah, didnt realize it needs to go through ALL the updates if I were to do it that way, I figured they would just skip past that and the newest version would also have the older versions packaged in there somewhere lol.

Definitely an option.

I've found that bring in the same potential for the bugs of high CPU/disk usage etc and the 'problem' (that's an easy fix) of disk space eaten up in Windows.old.

Definitely doable, but if you're already prepared for a clean OS install, may aswell start outright "clean" IMO.

it depends on what the updates are. using a tool like the media creation tool or the windows update assistant will get you updated to the latest build which covers a good majority of the updates.

windows 10 is not like 7 where after a clean install you have to run windows update to install 200+ updates
