Windows 10 won't open .jar files?

I just bought this new asus laptop and I wanted to open a jar file with Java but it isn't working? Please help

Right a file with an extension of .JAR is a Java related file.

So it means you will have to install Java on your system from here.
https://www.java.com/en/download/

Likely it`s not installed or you need a newer version than the one currently installed on your system Tankers.

I've done it, but every time I open it with Java SE Binary a command screen flashes and disappears on me though, I've spent a good 2 hours trying to fix this, but I can't find a solution.
