Windows 10 won't reset my laptop

I need to do a system reset and every time I try it gets to 5% and then says that it fails. If there are any ways to fix this without the windows media creation tool that would be nice.

well, you can try to fix the install you have or at least the windows image file that reset uses.

there are two ways I can think of that might fix it. One is go to here and click the top link, that wll download the upgrade assistant. run it and it will upgrade PC to Creators edition - main benefit is it replaces the image file that is currently failing on you. Once its updated you can run reset and it should work.

Other way is to run SFC/DISM on PC and see if we can fix the image file that way
right click start button
choose command prompt (admin)
type SFC /scannow and press enter
once its completed, copy/paste this command into same window:
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth and press enter
SFC fixes system files, DISM cleans image files, re run SFC if it failed to fix all files and restart PC
