Hi guys.

Windows 11 Pro didnt complete backup on my external HDD. Issues are:

1. Backup encountered a problem while backing up file C:\Users\WsiAccount\Searches. Error🙁The system cannot find the file specified. (0x80070002))

2. Backup encountered a problem while backing up file C:\Users\WsiAccount\Contacts. Error🙁The system cannot find the file specified. (0x80070002))

I don't care about Searches and Contacts - I don't have it on my Windows...

My question is - can I use that external HDD for system recovery If my Windows fails?

Test it. Backups have to be tested.
Should Windows do the full backup, or is it enough to just show up?
i'm afraid of losing my system... I have important data on it.

EDIT

Can I create a backup on my NVMe drive and then disable Windows Shadow Copy? Will turning it off delete existing restore points, or will it just stop Windows from creating new backups?

I want to make a single backup and disable automatic backups. I know that if I disable System Protection, all restore points will be deleted.

"I want to make a single backup and disable automatic backups."

Be sure to make multiple backups and store in different locations.

I make one backup internal on a 2TB SSD and and one external USB WD Black mechanical 3.5" 2T HDD. HDD left unplugged when not in use for "just in case" purposes. Acronis is a excellent backup utility.
Backup the backups!

I did the same. I assume limiting system protection on my C: drive to 1% will allow it to create one backup until that 1% is full, and then it won’t create any more backups. Is that correct?
