Question Windows 11 disconnects my keyboard ?

I'll start off saying I never had such thing before updating to Windows 11.

I've had some issues before, but as few months have passed some of them seem to have fixed thanks to updates. But lately this is getting pretty annoying.
Problem usually occurs if you do some workload/download something big will just disconnect my keyboard, disconnect might be wrong word as all the lights are on but if u press any key nothing happens. Sometimes you can press keys but after about ~10-15 keys a key will just get stuck spamming aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa. Sometimes its like that then u can type again 10-15 keys and same thing or it just gets stuck going aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa and u gotta disconnect cable yourself and plug again for it to work.

Anyone got ideas why this is happening? I'm using a Razer keyboard and their latest software.

what are specs of pc?
sure its kb lagging and not PC?

does it happen if you not using synapse?

Try a clean boot and see if it changes anything - make sure to read instructions and make sure NOT to disable any microsoft services or windows won't load right - https://support.microsoft.com/en-au/help/929135/how-to-perform-a-clean-boot-in-windows

if clean boot fixes it, it shows its likely a startup program. You should, over a number of startups. restart the programs you stopped to isolate the one that is to blame.

It's not really a lag, everything works perfectly unless for example I download a Update for a game. It's only going on WHILE its downloading, when it's done it's just poof gone all amazing again.

Tried with and without Synapse still same thing, I think I also removed all those "Save power" options for the keyboard

Specs
i9 12900k
Asus TUF mobo

Only reason I went for Win 11 supposedly was told that latest i9 works better on it.

I'm using Steam yeah, I can probably download wherever and same issue pops up.

I got
Samsung 970 EVO Plus 1TB and 2TB

Would love to try clean boot, but right now I got nowhere to put all of this data. Before trying, is there anything else I could test? I believe this issue been going on since day 1 I got Windows 11, just somewhat ignored it, but now it's getting annoying.

Oh I also remembered that, sometimes this bug/issue is different. I can't click anything on my screen, to fix that I have to do CTRL ALT DEL and click there once or open task manager with arrow keys and then it's fixed.

So basically yea, it's 2 things that start happening when you download something and moment download is finished never happens anything like this.

clean boot isn't a reset, all it does is stops any start up programs that didn't come with windows. Its easy to reverse.

are you using the Samsung NVMe drivers?
Also, have you run Magician on the 2 drives?

Samsung NVMe drivers is what I was asking about, not drives. On the tools page under Driver. they replace the standard drivers windows uses to control nvme drives.

surprised magician let you run diagnostics without them, seem to recall I had to install them? it was 2 years ago though.

Oh I have never downloaded any drivers for my NVMe drives, but always have worked. I thought Windows is so big boi now it just somewhat downloads everything itself. But I'll take a look and download those drivers too

I too came across an issue, but it was software related. I had two profiles on my laptop and suddenly got crashed and I was not able to log in to that profile using the set ID and Pass.

Well seems like for some reason I can't install the NVMe driver as when I try to open the .exe nothing happens, even run as admin :D.

I just checked yep, the Magician tool tells me I got drivers from Microsoft

its odd you don't get any message installing the Samsung drivers. if it couldn't see drive, it would have shown an error.

the nvme drivers don't show under the drive in Device manager, I know as I have a 1tb Evo plus and its showing Microsoft drivers.
what shows under Storage controllers in Device manager?

does it show anything under storage controllers?
Does it show Intel rapid Storage Technology?
I assume you would know if they are in raid. As that is one reason you can't install the drivers.

I don't know if this has anything to do with keyboard but well, it might since the updates for steam use a lot more resources than normal updates, as to install them the PC has to read the entire file that is being patched into memory, make changes and rewrite the file again. Its CPU and ssd intensive.

Are the games all on the one NVME?

AyzejkQ.png

Intel RST VMD controller was what i thought you might find.
VMD = Volume Manager Device - I wonder if drives are in raid.
its also used for Optane, do you have any?
do both nvme have own drive letters? what do they look like in disk management?

wonder whats going on.
i can't find any other cases of keyboard playing up when downloading from Steam
USB & storage all interconnected so it is like PC is waiting for something to happen before it unfreezes.

Can you try another keyboard and see if it still happens?

Well it's not just Steam. Downloading overall, maybe not browsers cuz those for some reason don't go above 10MB/s for me at least

Uhh I don't have another keyboard to give it a try

I am guessing my best hope is to wait for more Windows 11 updates as previous issue I had wasf randomly fixed one day.

or it's just Razer issue(s) on Windows 11 as I don't remember anything like this while I Windows 10 and I'm pretty sure even then I didn't have those NVMe drivers
