Hi. Monitor- LG Flatron l226wt-sf. It has only DVI & VGA ports, no HDMI. I have a brand new asus i7 alder lake laptop. It has USB - c (thunderbolt?) & hdmi ports. As it is now, the monitor is using a dvI-HDMI cable (philips) adapter to straight hdmi cable. The laptop only shows "generic pnp monitor" in dev. mgr. The actual display I'm seeing here (on the ext. monitor) is really poor, filling horizontally but inches short vertically, and the pixels overall suck. I will be trying the software from LG which apparently still exists.
The display adapters listed in DM are NVidia GeForce RTX 3050 Ti Laptop GPU, and Intel Iris XE graphics. Is there a way to "force" trying the intel (for external monitor?) driver? Will a DVI - USBc (thunderbolt?) adaptor give better graphics? Please note this monitor has worked seamlessly w old 2015 mac in w10p (but it's time to let go of that mac).. I really don't want to buy another monitor, this one really ain't broke. What other better drivers I can download if the LG one fails, as I expect it to ? Thank you, stay safe.
