Hi to everyone on this forum!

I have received some very helpful replies on these forums over the past couple of months which I have appreciated so much and I hope maybe you could help me with one more.

As I have mentioned in other posts, I have not built a PC since around 2008 - 2009 and it has been a real eyeopener in trying to understand all the new tech that goes into modern day PC builds. Well, long story short I managed to build myself a brand new fast PC with all the new funky stuff in it. I thought building the PC was the hard part, but it seems I am still in troubled waters. I am hoping to dual boot this system (Windows 10 and Windows 11). I tried what I thought was the right way to dual boot a system having successfully built a Win 7/Win 10 system. many years ago. But now everything seems to have changed again! To save time, I’ll tell you what I do know:

I discovered Windows 11 now has all of these additional requirements, TPM 2.0, GPT partitions, a UEFI bios and the most confusing to me something called “secure boot.“

My question is this~ How do I go about this monumental dual boot task? I am confused with GPT partitions , I didn’t even know they existed until a week ago and it seems MBR partitions are now a thing of the past and Windows 11 and secure boot will not run on MBR partitions. I have a Samsung 500Gb M.2 SSD card that I wish to install the two Windows OS’s on via two partitions. Just to be sure, these partitions have to be GPT style partitions, right? If so, how do I even manage, especially with Windows 11, go about installing this operating system with a GPT partition?

I also have a 4TB Sata HDD to load everything else on. Software programs and the like, does that have to be GPT partitioned now also? The reason I ask this is because on my new UEFI bios that I am also unfamiliar with, it seems that I have to disable CSM to allow everything to run on UEFI bios and not old Legacy MBR, or am I not understanding right here?

So, could someone please explain to me as detailed as you can, how I go about this. What exactly I do with the drives and their correct partition styles as well as the exact UEFI settings. I have an Asus Strix b550-f Gaming (Wifi ) motherboard which I did manage to update to the latest bios version, all of the rest of the hardware seems to meet Win 10/Win 11 requirements.

Thank you in advance!

Solution
Dual boot is much better done with each OS on its own physical drive.

Install 10 with only that drive connected.
Install 11 with only its drive connected.

But why the dualboot, instead of a Win 10 (or 11) guest VM?
What will this system be used for?

It's not really about what it is going to be used for , as i mentioned i had a win7/win 10 dual machine prior to this one, still do in fact, Win 7 was my thing , didn't want to ever let it go, but everything must come to an end , I rarely used the win 10 on that machine , but it gave me options when a piece of software wouldn't work in windows 7 , i had 10 to install it on
VMware type OS's inside a single Windows never really worked for me , I would rather have a full Install windows rather than a virtual one . call me old fashioned , i'm still clinging onto the hope that microsoft will bring out a windows than looks like win 7 again , i know ! wake up and smell the roses dude !
