I had an old PC from 2011 that shut down faster than my new PC (old PC had Windows 10 on it). I recently built a gaming PC and noticed it takes 3-5 minutes for it to shut down and about 30 seconds to start up. I don't really have many apps running in the background. I disabled fast start up and tried a few terminal commands but no luck. I play games with Steam and battle.net but turn them off before shutting down.

PC:
Windows 11 Home
CPU= AMD Ryzen 7 5800X
Motherboard= MSI B550-A Pro
RAM= 32 GB
GPU= AMD Radeon RX 7700 XT
Drive Windows is installed on= Team Group MP44L M.2 PCIe 4.0

Hello pcbuilder777 i am just wondering if you are doing something that i used to do.

For 20 odd years i had been using the x at top right of screen to close steam and then turn of the pc.
Only when i got the game satisfactory did i notice that after exiting steam my pc started taking a long time to shut down so i thought it was satisfactory related.

I made comment about it on here and a guy said ..... i assume your clicking the word steam at top left and then click exit ...... oooops no i was not doing that.

It is faster now. I did 2 shutdowns and both were slightly over 1 minute. I don't have the latest BIOS. I was told it is not needed with an AM4 because the memory is more stable.

Well, I timed three shut downs after installing the chip set drivers.

Shut down 1 was 1 minute and 7 seconds.
Shut down 2 was 1 minute and 12 seconds.
Shut down 3 was 2 minutes and 17 seconds.

These times are faster than before.
I tested all of them by opening a game then closing it and shutting down.

My taskbar has AMD adrenalin and Windows defender running.

Could be one of the other SSD/hard drives attached E,F or if there is a G as it's cut off in the pic.

If Windows sniffs out a issue with a hard drive you will get the hanging time booting and shutting down. Use to check drives health.

The G is the optical drive it has a DVD in it

Sorry, I overlooked your link. The OCZ agility drive is causing the slow shut downs. I wonder why if it's health is "good". It was installed in my old PC with Windows 10 installed on the Samsung hard drive and I had no slow shut downs.
