i have an acer aspire a717-72g laptop.. i am not sure if i accidently changed something or not. but it used to be if i plugged in my cell phone.. or any usb device into my laptop.. a window would pop up and ask me what i wanted to do with the device.. such as open folders etc.. it no longer does this. today i plugged in a external hard drive and turned it on. i could see the drive was starting up. but the drive didnt show up under MY PC.. showing another hard drive.. nor did i get asked what i wanted to do. BUT.. when i go into disk management.. my drive is listed there and then i have to click on the drive and then right click and select change drive letter and path and then add the letter in and boom. then it comes right up under MY PC.. so what is going on with my laptop that it doesnt just auto know the drive and open it up. i should have to do this every time. maybe i turned something off. not really sure at this point. any ideas please??

what is the file size of the drive

what is the file size of the drive
i have 2.. one is 2 tb and one is 4 tb.. but it shouldnt matter only in the fact that both of them USED to come up automatically and i was asked what to do.. then it stopped. i did turn off auotplay and turn it back on andnow it seems to be working again.
