Hi!

I just restarted windows 11 which is installed since at least a year with no problem. Upon restart my mouse wasnt working anymore. Tried 3 different mouses. None works. They all worked on this build before. It's clearly not the hardware as they work in my other pc. I tried alot of things i found online but nothing works. Please help a poor lad!

Thanks alot guys.

Do the mice work in BIOS for the culprit system?

You could try a clean boot;

It might very well be a driver issue preventing the mice from being functional. Does the keyboard work on your system? If so, try this guide, with the option to reboot and holding down the shift key.
Hi!

I thought about it being the mice driver but whatever mouse im trying it's just not working. I did reboot in safe mode but the mouse was still not working. I haven't tried a clean reboot yet but yes the keyboard was working, it's just that it seemed like windows couldn't make any kind of mouse work, even older models that usually works on any builds.

I did a system recovery and it worked but strangely enough it made me loose some saves from my steam games (one of them had over 100 hours of gameplay so it kind of pissed me off a bit). But at least it fixed the problem.

I've had a PC for decades, been building pcs and troubleshooting them for a while, ever since Windows 3.1 but i've never had this happen. I was at a loss of words honestly.

Thanks a lot for the tips, i've bookmarked them. If it happens again i will definitely try those troubleshooting.
