Question windows 11 unidentified network/server ip address could not be found

Hello, I am seeking help with my Windows 11 internet connection. I am using a Netgear R7000 with ExpressVPN router firmware. I'm getting an 'Unidentified Network/Server IP address could not be found' error. I have tried restarting everything, which works sometimes. If I restart enough times, it works, but I have also tried resetting the IP and flushing the DNS. This issue started after a Windows update.

I got it working now using Wi-Fi from the same router, but I am unable to use Ethernet on my PC. I also have a PS5 and Xbox Series S connected to the router via Ethernet cable. They work fine with no errors or issues—only my Windows 11 PC is experiencing this error. My Ethernet port on the PC is a Realtek PCIe Gbe Family Controller, and the Wi-Fi, which is working for now, is a Realtek 8851BE Wireless LAN Wi-Fi 6 PCI-E NIC.

Thanks for any help or advice!

Look at the Windows event log and see if there are more detailed entries about what is happening at these times. Run "ipconfig /all" on command line when it happens and see whether you're getting valid IP settings. You could also try hard-coding the IP configuration to see if the connection stabilizes. You may just try rolling back the update that you believe caused it in order to verify. Windows 11 has a lot of serious problems with nearly every update, and 24H2 just keeps coming up with new ones every day it seems. If you confirm that the update is the issue then you can start looking for information specifically about that one.
