Seems like I've been here before. Everything was moving along smoothly until I downloaded a patch for my HP Scanjet.
Told me it needed to reboot. It did and 2000 started up again. It froze on the "Windows 2000" white opening page with the little blue rectangles about halfway across the line. No place to go but to bed for the night. I have a windows 2000 disk, but no boot disk. Any answers out there for me? Thanks!

I was so ugly when I was born, they slapped my mother!
I haven't changed!

Have you tried to start it with last known good configuration?
(press F8 while booting)

Thanks Newbie! Tried that and failed. HP warns about the file download that it may have malicious intent...I F8'ed but going back to the last configuration didn't help. I'll reformat the drive and start over. ByPick

What about using safe mode as wabbelmann suggested? (Roll back to previous driver)
