Am running windows 2000 prof. on a dell optiplex gx1 500mtbr+ w/192mb ram and using a fujitsu scan partner 15c. Problem is.. after scanning a few pages, windows locks up with no errors and the computer drops all network connections. This makes me have to reboot the system. Its getting old. Can anyone help me??

What kind of motherboard is in the system, what CPU and is the scanner connected to the USB port? Try looking at Dell'
s homepage to see if they got any driver / BIOS updates for the system. If the problem keeps accuring try changing the memory blocks or pulling 1 of the out. If this helps you know that you got a memory problem. Be careful when chaning memory blocks. Remember to NEVER touch the chips on the PCB and to always ground yourself by touching the computer tower before you move / remove the memory blocks.

My name is Jond, Bames Jond.

My ACPI incompatible network adapter killed my SB Live!

Possibly faulty memory. If it only happens when you scan though, sounds more like a driver issue. Which version of the scanpartner software and drivers? Might be a newer one on their website if you haven't checked yet.
I had an issue once with an NT machine just like this. If scanning a bunch of sheets out of the feeder it would lock up after getting so far. But it would scan a couple sheets with no problem. The problem there though, was that the program was on a drive that was full so as the program scanned in pages and created a bigger and bigger temp file it would hit capacity and freeze.
