Is it true that with Windows2000, programs rarely crash ?

Even if the programs crashed, is it true it they never crash the entire system ?

Thanks

Comeon! 'Rarely' does not mean 'Never'
And I havemy own opinion about rarely crashing W2K. As long as it's made by humans (and M$), there is allways possibility for errors (user errors, code errors, hardware faults)

Unix is a stable system, linux as well, depends on what You want to do...

Windows 2000 is by far the most crash-proof system I've used. Programs crash about as often as they would in Windows 9x (not talking about ME, which would crash every 20 minutes for me), but in 2000 they don't take the whole OS down with them. I've never had to reboot my two computers because of error...every time I reboot is to make an update of some sort.

I would say its matter of configurastion, drivers and maybe a hardware problem then.

But I agree, from Microsoft the W2K IS far stable then Win9x/ME. But then again W2K does not support DOS-based applications as well as Win9x/ME. It's all up to what You want to do.. I have Win98 at home and since I took time and configured it well, it has not crashed on me during about a year..
I don't know, do I dare to go to WinME. But W2K is not an option for me because I like some old nostalgic games too.

It's also a matter of psychology. Ofcourse ME didn't crash literally every 20 minutes, but when you come home from working on Win2k all day, it's about as annoying.

Speaking of games....only one game refused to run...the original Command & Conquer: Red Alert. Everything else works just fine.
