I just started a new job working on the helpdesk. I have notice that on some
computers (win2k) with sp4 and all updates applied, every so often I get
calls to the helpdesk that a user's printers have disappeared. I check the
printer spooler service and it's stopped. It's set to auto start. So what
could possibly be causing the printer spooler to stop inadvertantly like
that. It seems very sporadic. Please advise.

As always check Event Viewer for errors.
