Hi all,

Recently my computer over heated and I checked the cpu and other components and they were all looking fine, but when i turned my computer back on it black screened after the windows logo, the login menu won't even appear.

There are more problems, such as safe mode will black screen aswell, when I go into system repair it says there are no problems found, and I have created system restore points but when I try it says I have no restore points, I've tried to press Ctrl alt delete on the black screen but it wont appear either and now after trying many solutions I have no idea what to do anymore D: if anyone can help that would be appreciated very much :3

There are one or files that may be been corrupted on the computer. It may be part of the system partition which may require doing a clean install of Windows 7. My suggestion would be to connect the drive to another computer and recover any files that are important to you (i.e. data files, pictures, music, videos, etc), then try to do a clean install.

The clues are the problem occurs both in safe mode and regular boot, and your restore points are missing. System repair isn't fixing it either....

Safe mode doesnt work either, ive tried all options on the f8 menu and none of them work, everytime there is a black screen with a cursor :/ I'm still confused to how it deleted all my backups because i made system restore points for problems such as this, and I do not have another computer to test my hardware on i'm afraid ;_; so i guess the best bet is to do a clean install of windows but i think its a hardware issue that just needs replacing :/ unfortunately the parts that need replacing are the most expensive lol ;_;

Oh boy. A restore point isn't a back up. Do you have a back up like an image back up or a clone saved on a partition or another drive? Your C drive is an SSD right? Some SSDs don't do well with restore points like Samsungs. A known issue.
