Hi everyone and thank you in advance for helping.
My computer was turned off during the update process and I am getting the blue screen.
After launching the start-up repair I am told the problem cannot be solved although there is a patch preventing the system from starting.
My registry files precede the date the problem occurred, I have tried to restore but there is no restore point, I cannot start in safe mode.
I have launched bootrec.exe and ran FixMbr\FixBoot and also RebuildBcd and none have worked.
I know I will probably have to go the long way around and pull the data from my disc and do a clean install but just wondered if any of you Techsperts had a quicker fix so I can spend the rest of my life in awe at your magnificence?
Hopefully yours,
Anthony.

Yikes, sounds like you did everything you could. Do you have any image's of your system backed up? Besides that, all I can say is a clean install.

I recommend when/if you do a clean install to install all your drivers and tweak all your settings how you like them and then to make a system image for the future. That way in case something like this happens again you can use the system image as a *quicker way to reinstall your OS.

Try a REPAIR install from the Windows install disk -- it will retain all of your installed programs and documents etc. and yet replace all of the system files (meaning you'll have to redo all windows updates ) but should get the system working again without requiring a clean install.

Re-install Windows , sorry but there is no magic pill to swallow here. A system image or restore point are the options that would have helped you and you will have to chaulk this up as a learning experience.

I thought that would be the case guys and no magic pill. I did actually create restore points but they have somehow been lost in the soup?
A system backup/image is definately in the loop!
Thank you all very much for taking the time to read my post and taking the time to answer, It is very much appreciated. Best regards to you all and best wishes for the coming year.
Anthony.

@JDFan.
Sorry I didn't answer your post.
I do not have a Windows install disc because I was so busy with work when I purchased the system, I didn't have the time to create the discs from the hard drive. I can use what is called the 'Onekey Recovery' but that will do a clean install and lose all of my hard work lol.
Thank you for your help.
Best regards,
Anthony.

No problem, never hurts to ask. Have a good year yourself.
