Windows 7 Blue screen of death at start-up

well i have been having this problem with my PC. I got win7 like a month ago and it was going pretty well. Just last week i got a new second monitor a 22 in dell and it was fine i ran dual monitors before with a 19 in with no problems. Now is when things started to go downhill. I was just surfing the web one day and suddenly my screens went black. I was like wtf for like 5 seconds then everything reappeared with a windows error box saying windows has just recovered from a Nvidia driver failure. I was like ok... i thought nothing of it but the next day when i turned on my computer i got a screen with red lines through it everything loads until it gets to the windows icon and then, boom blue screen of death. I then tried every single repair windows option. with nothing working. Even put in my old hdd witch has windows xp. still blue screen of death. Now i know you may be wondering why i did not try safe mode. See i have some unsigned drivers for my ipod on my pc so I have to click f8 at start up to chose disable driver reinforcement. If I do not my mouse and keyboard do not work. I can only run one f8 command so if i chose safe mode i will not be able to use any mice or keyboards. So that's my predicament now if anyone has any clue how I can fix this that would be great. I have one 7600gt on my PC right now. Is a video card problem probably but i have no way to fix it...

Nvidia are prone to giving up they dont like any sort of change i had this problem when i went from XP to VISTA it was running fine on XP when I installed VISTA was fine for a while then went funny i then got another one that was fine on VISTA then I reinstalled XP and yes the card went so yes it is prob your Graphics card

I have a dell inpiron with a 2.2 ghz celeron processor. and ever since i upgraded vista to windows 7 the bsod keeps popping up a few minutes right when it gets to the desktop. The only thing I could think of is the processor because I have a inpiron 1525 laptop with a intel core 2 duo 2ghz and windows 7 is working perfectly. Could anybody give me advice or help with this please.

Yea i get the blue screen after windows boots up. Though im figuring out that it has to do with Enabling SLi in my cpu. i dno Y but When SLI is enabled and I run any type of graphic Program, my cpu restarts and trys to boot windoes but ends up witha blue screen

I have been wasting an inordinate amount of time searching for a solution to my daily BSODs on a newly built PC based on an Asus P5QC motherboard and an Intel Core 2 Quad 2 QP9550 2.83 Ghz CPU. I followed every tech blogger’s advice and carried out vast numbers of suggested cures – all to no avail. With every piece of software and hardware I’ve got checked and checked again without a solution I reinstalled Win 7 Home Premium (three times).

My first choice culprit was my memory DIMMs – 2 X 2GB Ballistix DDR3 modules – but the Windows memory test came up with no errors. But somewhere along the line I acquired Mem Test – 86 but this crashed every time I booted from it. So I decide to take out one memory module at a time to check which was faulty (both new of course). As soon as I pulled one out, the BSOD problem was cured – and it didn’t matter which one I ran on.

At this point I looked more seriously at the memory limitations of Win 7 and discovered something that, had I known all along, I would never have had a problem. And this may apply to you too.

Yes, we all know that the max limit is 4GBs but no-one made it clear to me that this was 4GBs of memory INCLUDING any that I may have in other devices such as a graphics card. When I totalled that up I was well over the 4GB limit and suddenly realised why my system was crashing. Yours will too if you have more than 4GBs.

Now I do not assume that this is everyone’s problem but take my advice and explore your system’s RAM max capacity (aggregated with your graphics memory and any others you have) and reduce what you have in total to below the 4GB limit.

I found this thread whilst searching for my own solution.

Win 7 does not have the memory limits outlined above. Unless this is 32 bit.

Take out the gpu, clean out any dust- Seems crazy but many gpu get issues with dust, which crashes thus saying driver stopped working-

Hi,

During Windows 7 startup, sometimes blue screen will appear. This usually happens due to incorrect installation of any hardware or software. Most of the problems are caused due to incorrect software installation. It conflicts with other programs and create BSOD errors. One way to get rid of such issues is boot into safe mode and uninstall the conflicted software. Still if you cannot get rid of that, you may run system restore. This will restore your computer to an earlier date before installing that software.
