Hey,
I tried to download Windows 7 64-bit onto a Western Digital Blue Caviar 500GB HDD but Windows keeps telling me, "Windows cannot be installed to this disk. This computer's hardware may not support booting to this disk. Ensure the disk's controller is enabled in the computer's BIOS menu."
I think it might have to do with my BIOS settings but Even though I tried to change some stuff like SATA mode, it still doesn't work.
Suggestions please? Thanks

Specs (If it helps):
Motherboard: MSI B75MA-P45
CPU: Intel Pentium
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2x4GB)
HDD: Western Digital Blue Caviar 500GB
Graphics: Asus HD 7750

I believe my computer does recognize my HDD. And I also tried to change the SATA mode to both IDE and AHCI mode. I still got the same message from Windows

The problem is that your system couldn't boot up from this HDD. In BIOS settings u may have to try to change the boot device sequence and put your HDD to the first booting device. Then reboot by calling out boot menu and select your DVD Drive to start it all over.

If not solved. Probably there is problem on your HDD Boot Sector. Find some HDD scanning softwares to check your harddrive. Here is one for free: http://pcsupport.about.com/gi/o.htm?zi=1/XJ&zTi=1&sdn=pcsupport&cdn=compute&tm=26&gps=340_12_1093_521&f=21&su=p504.6.342.ip_&tt=4&bt=6&bts=14&zu=http%3A//www.seagate.com/www/en-us/support/downloads/seatools.
Be sure to download the DOS version and Burn the iso image into a CD or a USB flash drive. There is tutor on the website and it won't be difficult to use.

Thanks for your help! I tried both your suggestions. When I changed the boot order, Windows still wouldn't download. I tried the HDD scanning software you suggested and my hard drive failed both the short and long test. Can I assume that my hard drive is a dud then?
