Windows 7 CD to windows 10?

So I am looking to buy a steam machine, but i want to change the OS to windows. Now i want Windows 10 because i want to have Direct X 12 for the future. My question is if i buy a Windows 7 Cd will i get a free copy of Windows 10 When i load it?

If you have a windows 7 product key that you have or one that comes with the DVD then yes your eligible for the windows 10 free upgrade.

Then you can Upgrade to Windows 10.

You might as well just buy Windows 10 to start with, and avoid all that.
