Windows 7 Does Not Recognize Second HDD

Hiya!

I recently (as of like, say, 4-5 months ago now) upgraded my custom built PC from Vista Home Edition 32-bit to Windows 7 Home Edition 64-bit. I currently use a Solid State Disk for my OS and a couple of programs, but due to the limited space on these I use an internal attached WD 500GB drive. When I upgraded from Vista to Win 7, the WD 500GB drive is no longer there. I did the device manager search and tried reattaching the SATA cable for the drive while the computer was running, and neither of these seemed to do anything. At the time I decided not to mess with it as I didn't need the data on there.

Well fast forward to today, and I'm realizing that I would like to be able to access that Hard Drive again. Ergo, here I am, asking for suggestions or things to try to get my PC to realize that there is another HDD attached! What should I try?

Open Control Panel>Administrative Tools>Computer Management>Disk Management. The hard drives installed on the system will show there. Right click on the drive and choose 'change drive letters and paths.' Assign the otherwise non designated system drive a drive letter.
