Windows 7 enterprise can connect to internet only with IE and only after running Norton removal tool every time

Hi All,

I got this Toshiba protégé laptop from the internet. It could not connect to the internet. I got the internet through after perhaps resetting the winsock (cant remember exactly) but there were hundreds of pop-ups. After several times running malwarebytes and ad-aware the pop-ups disappeared and I can connect to the internet only after making IE11 the default browser and then running Norton removal tool.

I have done the following (to no avail):

- Reset winsock
- Running malwarebytes, ad-aware, superantispyware, avast, cccleaner, hitman pro, jrt
- Clean boot

Current status:
- Opera and Chrome will not connect even if made default browser and after running Norton removal tool
- IE 11 will connect if made default browser and after running Norton removal tool
- All browsers working normally in Safe mode without the need to run Norton removal tool
- Can ping web addresses normally
- Skype cannot connect

I dont have the original windows disc to re-install Windows, the laptop does not have restoration points at all.

I wonder if any one could help? Thanks a lot. Phuong

Sounds like your laptop came pre-infected with a virus or 10. This is common for bootleg copies of software like Windows Enterprise.
The quick solution is to purchase an OS or return the laptop imo
