Solution
I have won! Thwme issue of all the crashing may have very well been due to a bad ram stick. Now with only 8 gb ram, no crashing and i have begun installing ither disks while on my desktop screen.
NEW PROBLEM:

The second ofvthese two towers is installing windows seven home premium 64 bit os. It gets to the point now, where i am almost finished, at 99% it errors about expanding the windows files. The disk should be new from amazon seller. The first tower worked. The second tower is not working yet, due to this new error about installing and ecpanding windows files. PLEASE HELP!!!

Hi,
I having a little bit of a problem to fully understand whats going on there.
Please give us a detailed explanation of Your problem and also if You recently have installed new s/w or h/w?
Computer: manufacturer and model?
Graphics card: manufacturer and model?

When it comes to Windows updates, You must be patient, just let it be for a while, sometimes it could take hours & even if it seems to do nothing, just let it be. Don't interrupt.

I was having an issue with the installation of the OS. I have somehow resolved it just now by a combonation of switching up the memory and doing a clean install. I have however just inserted the possible ram culprit and i am back to geeting an error upon logging into my pc account, the administrator account.

So you popped the windows install, and setup OS dvd into the Cd or dvd drive of the system.

It got to the windows install part of the setup where it asked you where, or what drive you wished to install windows to.
And displayed the Hard disk drive in the main windows of drives detected.

Yes?

First question to you is the drive, or was the drive you fitted completely new, bought to use with the system build?

If the answer is yes then good.

When you get an error from the part of windows where it gets to 99% of windows expanding files there are two resons why it fails just before reaching 100%, and the installing the expanded files of the windows setup to the drive you selected for it to be installed to Hudpithicus.

The first is before you start the install procedure make sure that in the bios of the motherboard that for Sata devices the mode of Ahci is selected and not Sata

Once you change the mode to Ahci, make sure you save the changes made in the bios before you exit it.
ok.

Now back to the point where on the windows install and set up it asks you to select a drive to install windows to.
Hi light the drive with a left click of the mouse.

Instead of clicking next.
Click on drive options advanced.

Format the drive first choosing Ntfs as the formatting of the drive.
Once done click on next.

The windows Install set up should start.
The expanding of the files should complete to 100%

The install or expanding of the windows files halts at 99% because the interface mode in most cases set for the hard drive in the bios is set to Sata mode, and windows cannot see the drive if set to Sata mode.

By setting it to Ahci mode for the sata ports in the bios. the drive is then seen by windows when it reaches 99% to 100% of expanding the install files ready for the os to be installed on the drive you selected.

Well, I suggest that you start with loading BIOS Defalut settings in the BIOS setup menu.
Then check the disc boot priority, change if necessary, Save & Exit

Then you could test your memory's: Download Memtest86+ http://www.memtest.org/
It's a free s/w and you either burn it on a CD or put it on a bootable Usb-stick.
it's a very small program and it will not in any way affect your system.
But it must be running until at least 6 or 7 pass, which can take the whole night, depending of how much ram you have installed

Ps. I did not see the post above before posting, yes follow that first.

Good to hear. But You can still afterwords test the memory's. If Memtest86+ finds any error, then you can just shutdown. A faulty memory stick must be returned in a matching pair or package, if you are going to claim then on warranty. Remember that many memory manufactures has lifetime or several years of warranty.
