Windows 7 explorer not working

Hi everyone, lately whenever I try to use the search box on the start menu, if I try to search ANYTHING, the only things that come up are "Control Panel" and "Programs" when I try to open them I get a message saying "Your Internet security settings prevented one or more files from being opened.". I've already ran a virus scan on AVG and everything seems fine, what else can I try?

Reset IE

You can try scanning using a program that can actually find and remove infections.

Download and run malwarebytes, I'm sure you will be amazed at much it finds that AVG just skipped right over.
