My computer takes an hour to boot ,
First a blinking underscore appears for half a minute then the screen goes black ,after 10 to 15 minutes the screen goes and Stuck starting windows and the light keeps on moving, after another 15 minutes the screen goes to black again then several minutes a mouse corsure appears, then the screens in black again and when it reaches to the blue welcome screen the loading corsure keeps on spinning for another 15 to 20 minutes after that the screen goes black again, when it is fully booted I can't really open a program and when I try to it said the program is not responding before this incident my theme was on Aero and after this incident happened the theme was changed to basic and I cant click on aero themes, and I wonder that this caused my computer to boot on lag. And also, before, my drive d was 800 mb left then programs keep on in responding so I forcely restarted the computer then I got this problem

I got this lag while booting problem before but I easily found out the problem is, I tried fixing it now but nothing happened.

Pls. Help me I can't figure whats the problem is
My sister need this computer

Solution
ya, fully to bios use so you can enter it and make any setting adjustments .. jus t will not have a os to boot to if you don't enter the bios .

that's why I suggested to do that and try just your optical drive and a live dvd of Linux to have a working os if needed with out a hard drive if needed to see what happens there
But I don't want to spend money I'm just a teen anger I don't have any job.
can I replace it with a laptop hard drive? but I can't copy some system image.

Hi there CONDORGT,

I would agree with RaDiKal_.
Once the computer boots up, you really need to back up the data stored on it. After that, you can see what is wrong with it: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/282651-32-best-diagnostic-testing-utility

Yes, you can put a laptop drive in a desktop machine. If there's not a specific slot, you may need to get some mounting bracket.
Also, my suggestion would be to perform a clean OS install on the other drive, as there's a chance that the current one is damaged. (don't clone it)

I backed up my pc, last time i backed up was weeks ago. I delated a lot of system images cause it i dont have any space on my drive and how can i copy the files if the pc is not performing well by the way, how to fix a loading screen with blinking underscore?

How do you do that? We are talking about storing your most important data on another, separate drive right?
Well, you need to test your drive, so you can see whether and what is wrong with the drive. If it is in a healthy state, perhaps we need to look at another direction.

don't forget when windows loads it goes from default to where it loads all drivers and start up programs [like between the bios screen and desktop you may check to see if there a issue with one of them and windows is hanging up trying to make it load or having issues with one ?

have you tried to boot to desktop in safe mode ? if it seems to go to desktop more normal then I'd look as driver / start up programs I had a driver cause this before could be any from motherboards to vid card or any one

this is old but show same as I was saying

http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/728-63-slow-windows-boot

may test your drive with something like data life guard if a WD drive ? run check disk to see if anything pops up from it and sfcscannow from the command prompt ?

I would get Adwcleaner, (http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/adwcleaner/),save it on a usb, reboot the problematic computer in safe mode (f8) during boot, and run adwcleaner from safe mode, I am betting this computer has something "malware or the like" run scan and clean it, reboot normally and see what it solved (copy and paste the result here if you can)

Well I cleared the CMOS by removing the battery and yesterday I waited for 3 hours and succesfuly booted my computer, the my computer was back in aero but the booting and lag problem is still there and as I open any program it always not responding and as I click, it closes forcely. I tried booting it in safe mode but it stop while loading drivers. I don't know how to copy system images please help me.

why not burn a live bootable dvd of Linux and un hook the hard drive you got and see how well it boots to desktop on it ?

You can download the Linux Mint operating system for free. It comes as an ISO file
which you need to burn to a blank DVD. The liveDVD is then bootable and provides a
fully-functional operating system which you can try without affecting your PC. In
layman's terms, when you put Linux Mint on a DVD and place it into your computer, you
can try it out while leaving your current system intact

sounds like you need to test your hard drive or something is corrupt as I said above to me ??
