Windows 7 freezing while in use and not in use.

Okay my computer recently started to freeze when it wasn't in use. Then it started to freeze while in use. I did everything I know how to do. I took a stick of 8gb of ram out thinking that was the problem because it was 1600Mhz and the old ram(2x4gb) was 1333Mhz. Could anyone help me out with my problem?

I went there before making the post. I tried the Windows 7 options, and nothing worked.
