Question Windows 7 goes to sleep during video playback

Hey guys. I have a weird issue. When I use VLC player and MPC-BE player. After a while, I think 30-40 minutes, if I don't touch my mouse or keyboard, my HTPC goes to sleep. I don't have this issue with MPC-HC player, so I don't think that the issue lays in my Windows setup. If I remember it correctly, from the Event Viewer, the last event before the screen blanks appears to be "The VSS service is shutting down due to idle timeout." . Any ideas?

EDIT: forgot to mention...I play videos over my local network server. I don't know if that has to do with anything.

Have you checked the Windows power settings?

As I've said, mpc-hc doesn't have this issue, so I don't think that's the problem here. But yes, I have.

Set your pc to never sleep.

I know that's a solution, but the sleep function is really useful to me. I really don't understand why the PC doesn't detect the video playing when using those two players?!

Or check options in video player settings and set it to not allow sleep during video playback.
If your video player has no such options, then disabling sleep globally is your only option.

Well, MPC-BE has almost the same options like MPC-HC, so no, there isn't an option for that.
