So I recently had to uninstall the catalyst drivers because they kept crashing, when it reset, I lost all keyboard and mouse support. I tried a system restore but it was no good. What I was wondering is that I have 1 ssd and 1 hd. If I unplug the one with all the files and programs and just reset my ssd with the OS on it, if I plug my HD back into the computer after the reset will my files and programs still be usable or will I have to reset everything.

Solution
Depends on how the hdd was set up. Did you have a symbolic link pointing your entire users folder to this hdd? Was the hdd mounted to the Windows libraries? Either way, your data should be on that drive. Programs will need to be installed after the new Windows installation however. You don't need to unplug either drive, just make sure you install Windows on the ssd and not the hdd. If you think there is data on the ssd, you can connect it to another system to transfer the data. If symbolic links or anything like that was in place before all this, those configurations will need to be re applied
