Hi,
I have question, I was working my boss's Acer Aspire 5517 and was able to clean out a lot of the bloatware and get it to run faster. It has an OE copy of Windows 7 Home Premium on it. It has the cd key on the bottom of the laptop. I was wondering if you could make a bootable usb drive with my copy of Windows 7 Pro without using its cd key by using one of those freeware programs that would remove the pro cd key during the process of creating the iso for the bootable usb drive using Microsoft's DVD/USB drive creation tool. I am not sure if i am saying this right or if this possible. He does not want to purchase the installation disks from Acer because of the laptop's age. If you could give me directions on how to do this or if it is possible or any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again.
Sincerely,

Solution
What you're suggesting wouldn't work and would only cause the system to be declared non-genuine.

If you want to give him a fresh system with all his programmes, files and settings in place, simply upgrade it to Windows 10.
