Windows 7 is blank after turning the monitor off and back on?

Usually when I am not using my computer, I turn the monitor off. However the majority of the time, when I turn it back on again, the screen is completely blank. The monitor does not say it is receiving no signal, and the computer doesn't appear to be in sleep mode. Any ideas what this could be?

Check you advance power settings in control panel. It is probably sleeping or hibernating. Why not just turn the thing off. Everything has a life span. Your computer takes much more power than your monitor.

As I said, I already checked this, and sleep mode is set to Never

You actually said "the computer doesn't appear to be in sleep mode." Hibernate, turn monitor off after so many minutes? Sorry couldn't have been more help. Good luck! Perhaps someone else may chime it...
