Windows 7 Keyboard Failure during boot

Suddenly my Windows 7 dell XPS says Keyboard Failure during boot sequence. I can't "strike the F2 key to continue or F2 to run the settup utility" because the keyboard isn't recognized.

I put in my windows system repair disk that I made few months ago, but still get the same error.

I swap out the keyboard for another but still get the same error.

Any help out there?

Try resetting the BIOS, unplug the PC from power, remove the CMOS battery for about 15 seconds, see if that helped. Also try a different port if you are re-using the same one.

Unplugging the computer got me to System Startup. How simple but how effective. Thanks!
