WINDOWS 7 KEYBOARD STUCK KEY 33

MY LENOVO LAPTOP RUNS WINDOWS 7 AND BEFORE WINDOWS OPENS I GET A MESSAGE THAT KEY #33 IS STUCK..I PRESS ESCAPE AND GET A SOUND LIKE A STUCK KEY THEN WINDOWS OPENS..THEN WHEN I TRY TO OPEN THE START MENU ALL I GET IS WHAT LOOKS LIKE A STUCK KEY REPEATING IN THE SEARCH BOX..AND THE START MENU WON'T OPEN...HELP....

I don't know what key is 33 but my real problem is that I cannot open the start menu because whatever key is sticking seems to be blocking that

It's my friend's laptop..don't know the model..she purchased it in July 2009. I believe it came from France

We can't tell you much without knowing the model. There isn't a single key code chart for all models - they're different.

You can try cleaning the keyboard.
There could be something blocking or stuck in the keys.

I'm sure you did this already, but never hurts to make sure... did you run your fingers over all the keys? Sometimes it wil unstick the stuck key.

As a long shot here, ASCII 33 is the exclamation point key. Hex 33 is the number three key. So, one of your stuck keys may be one of these:
