Windows 7 Microphone problem

Hello!I have bought an microphone and when I plugged it in,I opened the control panel to see if the system detects it.It does.But when I Want to talk on skype,the microphone is not working.I also tried with the voice recorder but nothing happened.Any solutions are helpful .Should I get the realtek auido manager?Sorry for bad english.

open the volume control panel (double click the spkr icon down by the clock) and make sure the mic is not muted and turn the gain up. Some mics have an on/off switch on them which will also need to be on.

It does not appear there,But on my Other pc it works.Is the problem in my microphone jack?
