This morning I powered on my PC only for it to go into an incredibly long startup repair which said something along the lines of "Checking disk for errors...". After 2 hours I got impatient and turned off my pc, only to get a chkdsk when I started it up. This lead me to have a problem where it just booted up into a black screen where I could only move around my cursor, nothing else. After numerous tutorials I ended up using the gateway recovery partition thingy to reinstall windows 7.
I managed to reinstall it succesfully but now it has this wierd grey backround on the login menu instead of the bright blue one. I create a new user and I log in only to find out that I pretty much cannot do anything that I could do yesterday. I can't connect to my internet network because it tells me the security key is wrong, even though I am 100% sure it is right because I'm looking right at the sticker when typing it. Looking in device manager it seems that the 802.11n wireless Lan card is succesfully installed along with Microsoft virtual Wifi miniport adapter.
I try to connect the pc via ethernet which was my main method of using the internet before everything went haywire, and it doesn't even recognize I have it plugged in. In device manager The ethernet controller has no driver, neither does Pci Simple Communications Controller or universal Serial bus. When I try to let windows install the ethernet controller it fails to update and says it can't find Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller. I really don't know what to do, I've been trying to fix this all day but no solutions so far.
My PC is a Gateway DX4860
I don't know if this matters but many months ago I installed a new PSU and graphics card for my
gaming which are a Corsair cx430 and a Radeon HD 7770.
Any help would be much appreciated, thank you.
