windows 7 network drivers

i've had window 10 for about 3 months then i noticed the BIG memory usage it can take up to 500MB so i downgraded to windows 8.1 i had BSOD about twice a week i would like to go back to 10 but i tried all the ram manger but i didn't like any of them , anyways back to the subject i said windows 7 is definitely the best so i bought windows 7 , installed it and dammn i liked the speed but i had i problem which is the net , there are no drivers at all , tried to move some drivers using flash drive from another laptop but everything i add i find the yellow ! next to it tried to add manually the drivers still not working not the ethernet or the wifi and i don't have a usb wifi card to use i using now windows 8.1 is there any way to use window 7 and get the internet to work

Odd as W10 is meant to be more memory efficient than 7 or 8...

Anyway, the corporate firewall here is blocking access to the image - surely going to the manufacturers website (of the laptop if it's a laptop or the mobo if it's a desktop) with the model number will find you the correct drivers? What make / model do you have?

Windows 10 can be a pain memory, CPU and driver wise, Windows 8.1 wasn't that bad with the improvements over windows 8. I have stuck with Windows 7 as it is way easier to use compared to the new OS's and I know my way around Windows 7 from all the years using it.

I have just received a new copy of windows 7 recently, I'm waiting for an Samsung EVO SSD that should be arriving today so I can install the OS.

If your having driver problems do you have a driver disk that came with the motherboard or the system if it was prebuilt. Most prebuilt computers have a recover partition that holds all the drivers for the customers convenience.

If you have the disk then install all the drivers from that otherwise if you do not have either the disk or partition then you will have to research who manufactured your motherboard and what its name is then you can find it on the manufactures site then download the drivers from their site.

That or you may want to invest in a driver software provider.

thanks for replying ,, man i wish it was that simple i went to toshiba driver center and searched for wifi card driver then put it in a flash drive then tried it but still not working 🙁 it's not even showing on device manger BTW : i have Toshiba satllite L40-AT7W1

All the drivers for the L40 for Windows 7 look to be 64 bit, is that what you have installed or did you install the 32 bit Windows 7? There are also several wireless and other driver versions available, you can find out which you have by going to Device Manager, checking the properties, hardware ID tab and searching for the product and device ID you see there. That will give you the manufacturer of the chip and probably the model number, you can then compare what you see at Toshiba's support site to get the right drivers.

I'm confused now about what you are installing this on, your post said "Windows 7", is it Windows 8.1? And when you say it's working, what do you mean by that if you have errors in Device Manager? You can't use 8.1 drivers in 7 for the most part, some may work, but many won't.

Go to Toshiba's website and get the Windows 7 drivers there, not drivers from a Windows 8 system.

it wasn't working on windows 7 so i returned to 8.1 how i'd send this thread if i don't have any net ,, yo know ! i give it another try or i could barrow a usb wifi card with drivers thanks all
