One day i turned on my PC and it claimed that my copy of Windows 7 was not genuine, and i let it go for a few weeks. But now i can't update/download any new drivers, and as of today can't open and play any games. Should i just buy a new Windows disk or what?

Yes, if you don't activate windows with your licensed activation code within a certain amount of time, it will basically stop working. Its one method to keep people from pirating and distributing the software illegally. You don't need a new disc, you just need to activate your legally purchased copy to keep using it. If you did not purcase it legally, then you need to do so.

No I didn't purchase it, it was a copy a friend had given me. So that could seriously prevent me from using drivers, adding devices, and playing games?
