I have a windows 7 64bit, but the computer that is on doesnt work with floppy, it always says floppy disk error on bootup, but i had another computer on which it did work when i had windows 7 32bit. So i installed windows 7 32bit on the partition of the drive which i was going to install xp on. Then i booted it up. All it says is please put a disk in drive A:. I knew there was one in it and the light on the drive lit up and i heard noise coming from it. When i clicked ok on the windows it stopped. So i need help fixing that on either one of my computers, also when i moved from computer 1 (the one where windows shows the drive but says there is no disk) to computer 2 (the one where it says floppy drive error at bootup) windows 7 booted up fine, so i know both computers are interchangeable.
Computer 1 is an HP pavilion a6218x and computer 2 is a compaq presario sr5410f. Also if your wondering why i need a floppy drive is beacause i want to install windows xp on sata. Thanks for the help.

I have tryed using nlite to slipstream them, if thats what you mean, i didnt work though.

I do mean. I'm shocked nlite has always worked for me.

Well i still have it installed, so il get it another try

Update: it didnt work, all it says is
*
A disk read error occurred
Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart

1 one the drives i know works, and im not trying to install when windows 7 is running. Im doing it on another partition on my drive

So if there is a disk error at boot, you have a bad drive or bad disk. Or the floppy drive is hooked up wrong. If the cables are flipped or there is an issue with the cables it can also give a floppy drive error.

You'll also get an error at boot if the floppy drive is set first in the boot order and no bootable disk is found.

Both drives work, not only one. Ive flipped the cables and i know the disks work as they are new, FREE BOX at a garage sale, i know they are new as the box was in plastic and was in mint condition.

get your self disk drive to usb emulator ... you dont need to use crap floppies today

pick $15 cheap one

''know the disks work as they are new, FREE BOX at a garage sale, i know they are new as the box was in plastic and was in mint condition.''

I like that one

ya . I bought a box of floppy's in 1988 and throw them in the closet for 3 years then cleaning out the closet I then took them out to the shed where the were in a old box for 14 years until I decided to have a yard sale

ya buddy being new in factory sealed box is going to be a strong selling point to someone coming along with 2 bucks to spend

come on you still don't think if not stored under controlled climate controlled monitored storage the film that makes the disk's up have not had any degrading ?

If you have not tested the disks or seen them work, there is no way to know if they work. You can only assume they should work.

Ok so i changed it to 3rd in boot order, same message "Floppy Diskette Failure"

I have seen one or 2 work, and i've tryed one that i know for sure works

On the compaq (My main PC) there is an error at boot and the drive doesnt show up in windows 7 64bit
On the hp (the one id rather take to sarcan than keep) there is no error at boot and shows up in windows 7, but says please insert disk into drive A:
